Building a Competitive Website for Your Small Business
Client Spotlight: Shred With Shannon
Small businesses need a website that can compete with the big boys. That’s why Shred With Shannon sought our help to level the playing field with a website refresh. Shred With Shannon is a newer fitness studio located in beautiful downtown Waconia. Being in a town where there are about 7 fitness studios, including big names like Snap and Anytime Fitness, we wanted to create a website that stands out from the competition.
Shred With Shannon did not need too much help standing out from their competitors. The variety of classes they offer alone makes them stand out. They are the only fitness studio in Waconia that offers Aerial Yoga, and they have been adding a great deal of children’s fitness classes as well –including an Aerial Yoga Dance Class for kids! We really wanted to highlight the variety of classes offered and make the navigation a breeze for current and potential clients.
Our Tips For A Competitive Website
It's almost 2023, having an online presence is more important than ever. With so much competition out there, it can be hard to make your small business stand out from the crowd. One of the best ways to do this is by having a well-designed and user-friendly website. That’s what we focused on with Shred With Shannon’s website refresh. Here are some tips if you are thinking about making your website more competitive:
1. Keep it Simple
Your website should be easy to navigate and understand. Potential customers should be able to find what they're looking for without any trouble. Clutter will only confuse them and send them running to your competitor's site. Stick to a simple design with clear hierarchies and navigation menus. This will help visitors to find what they're looking for without any trouble, and it will also make it more likely that they'll come back to your site in the future.
2. Make it Pleasing to the Eye
First impressions are everything, so you want your website to look its best. Keep things clean and professional-looking - simple colors, easy to read fonts, and an uncluttered layout. But don't be afraid to add a personal touch. A website is still a reflection of you and your business, so make sure it reflects your personality. Ultimately, you want your visitors to have a positive experience on your site. If they can easily find what they're looking for and navigate your site with ease, they're more likely to become customers or clients. So take the time to design a website that makes a good first impression - it'll be worth it in the long run.
3. Write Clear and Concise Content
Website content refers to the information that is published on your website. This can include text, images, videos, and anything else that you want people to see when they visit your site. It's important to make sure that your content is well-written and free of errors. Not only will this help to ensure that people can understand what you're trying to say, but it will also reflect poorly on your business if there are mistakes. Be sure to proofread everything before publishing! In addition, you want to make sure that your content is keyword-optimized at appropriate densities. This means using relevant keywords throughout your website so that people can easily find it when they're doing a search online. By taking these steps, you can help ensure that your website's content is of high quality and easy for people to find. 4. Use Effective Call-to-Actions
Your call-to-actions (CTAs) should be clear, concise, and effective. They should tell visitors what you want them to do next, whether it's contacting you for more information or booking a fitness class on your site. Good CTAs are specific, benefit-oriented, and use strong action verbs. If your CTAs are weak, visitors will simply move on to another website that offers a better user experience. Make sure your CTAs stand out and are easy to spot so that people can't help but click on them!
5. Pay Attention to Your Competitors
"Green and growing or ripe and rotting" Consistently review your website's performance and be quick to adapt. One way to do this is to keep an eye on what your competitors are doing—you can learn a lot from them! See what's working well for them and what isn't, and use that information to improve your own site. After all, you want your business to be the one that comes out on top!
Building a competitive website for your small business doesn't have to be a complicated or expensive process—it just takes some time, effort, and close attention to detail. By following the tips above, we can help you create a site that will help level the playing field against even the biggest of businesses!
